Lake Balboa, CA (June 9th, 2023) Authorities confirmed that an accident in Lake Balboa involving a driver, Yeshua Cordova Tobar, suspected of going the wrong way resulted in the tragic deaths of a 60-year-old woman and a 5-year-old boy. Additionally, four other individuals required hospitalization due to the incident.
The Los Angeles Police Department reported that the accident occurred at approximately 9:35 p.m. on Thursday on Woodley Avenue, near Victory Boulevard. The report detailed that a car traveling northbound on Woodley veered across the center divider, crashing into a vehicle heading southbound.

The older woman, a passenger in the southbound car, was pronounced dead at the scene. The young boy, also in the southbound car, was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities identified the boy as Yeshua Cordova Tobar from Los Angeles. The woman’s name remains undisclosed until her family can be notified.
Both the driver and another passenger from the southbound vehicle, along with the driver and passenger from the northbound vehicle, were hospitalized following the accident.
The Los Angeles Fire Department stated that a 30-year-old woman, two women aged 28 and 21, and a 22-year-old man were all in serious condition at the hospital.
Witnesses at the scene described a gray Honda, driven by the 22-year-old man, colliding with a white Honda that carried four occupants, including the woman and child who were tragically killed.
