Foresthill, CA (March 26, 2024) People in the Foresthill area awoke to sadness and disbelief as news of a traumatic car accident spread through the community. A vehicle with 5 teenagers crashed in the middle of the night in the Foresthill area of Placer County, according to officials. The crash took place on Foresthill Road just after 1:00 a.m., leaving the driver with fatal injuries and the four passengers with serious injuries.
Darkness covered the road at 1:00 a.m. in Foresthill as a vehicle drove along Foresthill Road. As the vehicle approached a curve in the road, not too far from Mayflower Road, the 16-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle. The car swerved off the road and slammed into a tree at a high rate of speed, according to officers with the California Highway Patrol. The collision occurred at approximately 1:10 a.m.
The early morning sky was filled with flashing lights, and the blare of sirens as the California Highway Patrol hurried to the scene. Upon arrival, they found the vehicle with major damage. They rushed to the vehicle only to find the 16-year-old driver deceased. With heavy hearts, they pronounced the teenager dead at the scene.
Paramedics arrived and found four teenage passengers in the vehicle with serious injuries. The victims were all either 16 or 17 and all five teenagers were from Placer County, officers said. Paramedics transported all four injured teenagers to a local hospital to receive treatment.
Officers at the scene believe that alcohol was a factor in this traumatic collision in Foresthill.
