Monterey County, CA (October 8, 2024) An 81-year-old named Arthur Loring Schoenstadt of Salinas was tragically killed in a wrong-way DUI crash on Sunday around 5:05 p.m.
CHP reported that Schoenstadt was in a grey Toyota heading north on Reservation Road when a white Acura heading south veered into the northbound lane. The vehicles crashed head-on, and Schoenstadt was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The Acura driver was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries. CHP suspects they were under the influence, and he will be booked into Monterey County Jail when he is released from the hospital.
