National City, CA (March 8, 2024) A terrible accident occurred in the middle of the night in National City, leaving a woman seriously injured and a man arrested, officers said. The accident was caused by a DUI Driver who rolled his vehicle and seriously injured his passenger. It all happened at the intersection of Main Street and Division Street at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 7th.
A man was speeding in an SUV when he suddenly lost control of the vehicle, according to officers. The SUV slammed into two parked cars and then began to roll. As it rolled, it crashed into a light pole, completely twisting and destroying the pole. It finally came to a stop on its roof.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the woman with serious injuries. The driver, however, was nowhere to be found. As paramedics gave life-saving measures to the passenger, police officers searched the area for the driver. Their efforts paid off and they found him fairly quickly. He was placed under arrest for fleeing the scene. As officers were arresting him, they determined that the man was intoxicated.
