Upland, CA (March 16, 2024) A senseless accident, caused by an intoxicated driver, left a pedestrian in critical condition on March 14th. The accident occurred near the intersection of Benson Avenue and Foothill Boulevard in Upland, according to officers.
The pedestrian, identified only as a female, was crossing the street at the intersection when a black Honda approached. The driver of the vehicle was intoxicated and ran right into the pedestrian. Images of the vehicle following the accident show a dented hood and a busted windshield from where the pedestrian slammed into the vehicle when she was struck. The force then threw her back onto the ground, according to reports.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the damaged vehicle and the woman lying on the ground with critical injuries. Officers questioned the driver and discovered that he was intoxicated. He was arrested at the scene and booked on felony DUI charges.
Paramedics carefully loaded the injured woman into the ambulance and rushed her to a local hospital to receive treatment. She remains in critical condition, following this awful accident.
