Fillmore, CA (July 26, 2023) A 60-year-old man from Ojai was arrested for a drug-related DUI after causing a head-on collision on Highway 126 on Monday. He was driving a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 eastbound when he swerved into oncoming traffic, shortly before 2:00 p.m.
California Highway Patrol said the man’s pickup collided with a 2006 Chevrolet pickup traveling west. The driver, a 43-year-old Lancaster man was traveling with a woman, 49. The woman was trapped on the passenger side of the vehicle and the Ventura County Fire Department had to remove her from the vehicle. They were both transported to Ventura County Medical Center with serious injuries.

A third vehicle, a Dodge ProMaster cargo van, also traveling westbound, was hit by debris from the collision. The driver of the van wasn’t injured and the passenger received minor injuries.
The Ojai driver suffered minor injuries and was taken into custody. California Highway Patrol said drug-related impairment seemed to be the cause of the collision.
