Pescadero, CA (October 30, 2023) Madeline St. Pierre, a 22-year-old from Arcata, was arrested for DUI on October 13th, 2023, after driving her car off of a cliff and causing a deadly crash. Officials said the accident occurred just before 10:00 p.m. near the intersection of Pescadero Creed Road and Highway 1.
The driver behind the wheel of the 2012 Kia Forte was Madeline St. Pierre. She was heading west on Pescadero Creek Road and didn’t slow down at the intersection. The California Highway Patrol Redwood City Branch reported that St. Pierre continued through the intersection at a high speed and drove right off the cliff into the ocean below. Authorities said the Kia fell approximately 100 feet before it landed with a crash on Pescadero State Beach. Amazingly, the vehicle landed upright, even though it was partially in ocean water.

A 29-year-old passenger in the car, a Watsonville resident, was killed in the crash. Another passenger in the vehicle, 22-year-old Elyse Pickrt from Arcata, was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for injuries she received in the collision.
St. Pierre, who was driving the Kia, received significant injuries in the accident. The California Highway Patrol arrested Madeline St. Pierre on charges of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and vehicular manslaughter.
