Visalia, CA (November 3, 2023) An officer was injured after a woman, identified as 24-year-old Marissa Lianos, ran a red light and crashed into his police car on Friday morning. The collision took place at Center Street and Locust Street just before 2:00 a.m. on November 3rd.
The Visalia police officer was driving through an intersection on a green light when Lianos, driving a white minivan, sped through a red light and collided with the right front of the officer’s car. Lianos remained at the scene following the collision.

Following the collision, officers discovered that Lianos was on probation for driving under the influence and she was arrested again for driving under the influence following this crash. According to police records, this is Lianos’ third DUI arrest. She was arrested at the scene and taken to a local hospital to be checked out, following the crash. Once medical personnel released her, she was booked into the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility on DUI charges.
The police officer was taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries they sustained in the collision.
Lianos had a passenger in her minivan, but the passenger was uninjured in this collision. Crews cleaned the intersection of debris and glass and traffic was able to continue through the intersection of Center Street and Locust Street in Visalia.
