Las Vegas, NV (October 25, 2024) A 34-year-old man was walking in the area of Cameron Road and Flamingo road when he was struck by a vehicle. It happened west of the Las Vegas Strip, near Decatur Boulevard, according to reports. The 911 call was received at approximately 11:47 p.m. on Thursday, October 24th, 2024.
It was fairly late at night as a man walked through the streets of Las Vegas. Reports indicated that he began crossing Flamingo Road as a Ford Maverick approached him, heading west. The pedestrian was in the middle of the roadway when the Ford stuck him, officers reported. The impact sent the man several feet into the air before a hard landing on the ground.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics loaded the pedestrian into an ambulance and rushed them to UMC for treatment.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jonas Villaverde, 60. Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department questioned him and determined that he was intoxicated. He was placed under arrest and faces several DUI charges.
