Susanville, CA (October 31, 2023) Payten Nasser, 19, from Janesville, was arrested for DUI on Monday, October 30th, after a collision that injured his passenger. Authorities said the collision happened around 7:40 a.m. on Gold Run Road, just west of Gunderson.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Nasser was driving a 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara east on Gold Run Road and lost control on a left-hand turn. The Suzuki left the roadway and traveled down an embankment until it crashed into a large boulder.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the passenger of the car, identified as 19-year-old Juven Reyo of Susanville, was seriously injured in the collision. Paramedics loaded Reyo into an ambulance and transported him to Banner Lassen Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries he received.
Nasser was also taken to Banner Lassen Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries he sustained. He was then taken into custody and booked into the Lassen County Jail. Officers said that Nasser was highly intoxicated at the time of the accident and was arrested for DUI.
