Santa Rosa, CA (July 31, 2023) A police officer was flagged down by an injured driver who had just been hit by a vehicle that fled the collision near Railroad Street and Third Street.

Police searched the area for the vehicle described by the driver and eventually found it in a parking lot near Fifth Street and Wilson Street. The driver of the vehicle, Alfredo Gonzalez-Gutierrez of Santa Rosa, 34, displayed signs of being under the influence of alcohol. He was booked into Sonoma County Jail on 2 felony charges: hit-and-run with injury and DUI causing injury.
The victim of the hit-and-run collision was taken to the hospital with “significant injuries.”
