Modesto, CA (November 5, 2023) A 21-year-old woman was killed on Thursday afternoon, November 2nd, in a Modesto collision, according to the Ceres Police Department. The driver of the other vehicle was arrested for driving under the influence following the collision. Authorities reported that the collision occurred shortly after 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of Faith Home Road and Hatch Road.
Emergency Crews arrived at the scene to discover one person had been ejected from their vehicle. Modesto Fire crews and the American Medical Response team were at the scene following the crash. They used life-saving measures to save the victim, who sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash. Sadly, they were forced to declare the victim dead at the scene.

After some investigation of the scene, officers learned that the driver of the other vehicle, a 31-year-old male from Empire, had been driving under the influence at the time of the collision. It was not specified if it was drugs or alcohol. They believe his DUI driving is what led to the collision. He was arrested at the scene for a DUI resulting in injury or death and also for second-degree murder.
Investigators are continuing to work the case to try and figure out what exactly happened at the intersection of Hatch Road and Faith Home Road in Modesto on Thursday.
