Apple Valley, CA (October 27, 2024) A 24-year-old man on a motorcycle was seriously injured on Thursday, October 24th, after being struck by an SUV. The collision occurred just before 7:00 p.m. on Apple Valley Road, near Mandan Road, according to reports.
Initial reports indicated that the man was in the southbound lane of Apple Valley Road as a white Mitsubishi SUV approached. Reports suggest that the driver of the SUV didn’t see the motorcyclist due to the dark. The impact sent the man onto the hood and into the vehicles windshield before he rolled off, landing on the ground.
Emergency crews rushed the scene and found the 24-year-old man on the ground with life-threatening injuries. The victim was rushed to St. Mary’s Medcial Center and then airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center in critical condition.
Officers with the Apple Valley Police Department are investigating this scene in an effort to better understand what exactly happened. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities during their investigation.
