Templeton, CA (August 11, 2023) Joseph L. Haga, 71, from Templeton, was killed in a motorcycle collision Thursday afternoon on Highway 41. Haga was riding a 2020 Yamaha MT-10 when he crashed north of mile marker 34.
At approximately 12:15 p.m., Haga veered off the roadway at an unknown speed when trying to make a right-hand turn. California Highway Patrol said it is still unknown why Haga lost control and crashed while riding his motorcycle.

After losing control, Haga collided with a barbed wire fence and several fence posts. The force from the collision threw Haga from his motorcycle and he landed on the west shoulder of Highway 41.
Crews arrived at the scene to find Haga dead. Alcohol or drugs do not seem to be a factor in this collision and the CHP is investigating the accident.
