North Hollywood, CA (April 17th, 2024) Traffic flowed along State Route 134 in North Hollywood on the morning of April 17th, just as it did every other day. This morning, however, a motorcyclist was riding along the highway when he was hit by another vehicle. The accident occurred around 11:45 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the highway. The driver responsible immediately fled the scene, reports indicated.
A white Chevrolet pickup truck was heading west on State Route 134, as was a motorcycle. For reasons still unknown, the two vehicles collided near the No. 1 lane and the HOV lane in North Hollywood. The motorcycle and the rider went down in the lanes of traffic on the highway. The pickup, however, continued driving, fleeing the scene. Witnesses said they save him take the Cahuenga Boulevard exit.
The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and found the motorcyclist with non-life-threatening injuries. A good Samaritan had stopped to help him as they waited for emergency personnel to arrive at the scene.
Paramedics arrived and transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital to receive treatment for his injuries, including a broken arm. The damaged motorcycle had to be hauled from the highway by a flatbed truck and there was some debris that had to be cleared from the road, as well.
Investigators with the Los Angeles Police Department gathered evidence and talked to witnesses at the scene. They are on the lookout for the white Chevrolet pickup truck and are determined to find the vehicle and, in turn, find the driver who fled the scene on State Route 134 in North Hollywood.
