Antioch, CA (July 29, 2024) A 32-year-old motorcyclist was killed on Saturday, July 27th, after colliding with an SUV. The tragic and deadly collision happened in front of Bev Box on W. 10th Street, around 7:40 p.m., officers reported. The biker was a Brentwood resident and died at the hospital.
A 32-year-old motorcyclist was traveling along W. 10th Street at a fairly high rate of speed, according to reports. For reasons that remain unknown, the biker collided with an SUV in front of Bev Box. The impact knocked the rider from the motorcycle, causing a hard and rough landing on the roadway. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and contacted authorities about the accident.
Emergency crews arrived at 907 W. 10th Street and found the rider on the ground with life-threatening injuries. Officers began performing life-saving measures until paramedics arrived at the scene. They rushed the motorcyclist to a local hospital where the emergency medical staff did everything they could. The victim’s injuries were too severe and they eventually succumbed to them. With heavy hearts, authorities pronounced the 32-year-old dead at the hospital.
Update: The victim has been identified as Thomas Trost.
Officers questioned the driver of the SUV and gathered evidence at the scene. They also took statements from witnesses and are working to determine what caused this deadly accident on W. 10th Street in Antioch. Officers are also working to figure out who was at fault. Reports indicated that no arrests have been made and officers are still trying to get to the bottom of what happened.
