Sonoma County, CA (October 30, 2024) A motorcyclist lost their life in a collision with a truck on Wednesday morning, October 30th, 2024. The fatal crash occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Old Redwood Highway, at the intersection of East Railroad Avenue.
The morning commute had started as traffic began to pickup on roads all over Sonoma County. Old Redwood Highway was no different as a motorcyclist traveled near East Railroad Avenue. Suddenly, the motorcyclist collided with a truck, according to reports. The cause of this collision remains unknown. The two vehicles came to a stop in the middle of the highway, blocking both lanes of traffic and causing significant delays.
Someone called 911 and an emergency dispatcher walked the person through CPR procedures. The person continued until first responders arrived at the scene. They arrived to find the motorcyclist with fatal injuries, despite the good Samaritan’s efforts. Sadly, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators began gathering evidence and took statements from witnesses, as well as the truck driver. They are working diligently to determine not only what caused this deadly collision, but who was responsible.
