Orinda, CA (August 13, 2024) A tragic accident claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Saturday, August 10.
At about 12:05 a.m., officers responded to westbound state Highway 24 east of Saint Stephens Drive. The circumstances surrounding the crash are unclear, but a BMW SUV and a motorcycle were involved. The uninjured BMW driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The man on the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The collision is still under investigation, and anyone with information that could help assist California Highway Patrol is encouraged to call their Contra Costa headquarters.
