Reno, NV (September 25, 2024) A tragic accident occurred between a sedan and a motorcycle on Virginia Street in Reno on Tuesday night, September 24th, 2024. The accident was reported around 8:00 p.m. near Tamarack Casino. Sadly, the motorcyclist was killed in this collision, officers reported.
Darkness had fallen over Reno on Tuesday night, as a motorcyclist headed along southbound Virginia Street. For reasons that remain unknown, a white sedan suddenly collided with the motorcycle near the Tamarack Casino. The impact threw the rider from the motorcycle and the driver of the sedan lost control. The sedan went off the road and finally came to a stop in the ditch, according to reports.

Emergency personnel with the Nevada State Police arrived at the scene and found the motorcyclist on the ground. Troopers hurried to the rider’s side, ready to give life-saving treatment. Unfortunately, the rider had been killed in the accident and, with heavy hearts, authorities pronounced the rider dead at the scene.
Officers gathered evidence at the scene and took statements in an effort to better understand what happened. They are determined to not only piece together what led to this accident, but also uncover who was responsible. The road remained closed for an hour, reports indicated. Around 9:00 p.m., officers opened one northbound lane.
