Ventura County, CA (October 28, 2024) The community of Ventura County awoke to sad news on Sunday, October 27th, 2024. A collision on Highway 118 claimed the lives of a motorcyclist and a pedestrian. It happened just after 6:00 a.m., not far from Rocky Peak Road, according to reports.
It all started when a woman driving a Nissan Altima lost control and crashed into the guardrail on the right side of Highway 118. As she stood in the No. 1 lane, a 2020 Triumph Truxton motorcycle came down the highway and hit her. The impact was so forceful that it threw the rider from the motorcycle, sending them flying through the air before making a hard landing on the ground.
The California Highway Patrol quickly arrived at the scene and found both the pedestrian and the motorcyclist on the ground. They hurried to their sides, ready to administer life-saving medical treatment, but instead, found both people deceased. With heavy hearts, authorities pronounced both the motorcyclist and the pedestrian dead at the scene.
The Moorpark Area Office of the California Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into this accident. They are determined to better understand what exactly happened to cause this tragic collision. The motorcycle and the Nissan had to be towed from the scene, according to reports.
