Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Cloverdale Crash On Hwy 101

Motorcyclist killed in Contra Costa crash.

Cloverdale, CA (September 6, 2024) A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in a collision with another vehicle on Thursday morning, September 5th, 2024. The accident took place on Redwood Highway 101 in Cloverdale, not far from Geysers Road. Officers reported that it occurred just before 11:00 a.m., near Russian River Bridge.

A black Jeep Grand Cherokee and a motorcycle were both heading along Redwood Highway 101 in Cloverdale when, for reasons that remain a mystery, the two collided. The impact sent the motorcycle onto the right, northbound shoulder of the highway, knocking the rider off of the bike. The Jeep came to a stop in the No. 1 lane of the highway, according to reports, becoming a traffic hazard.

Paramedics from Cal Fire rushed to the scene and found the motorcyclist on the ground on the highway’s shoulder. They carefully placed the rider in the ambulance and took them to a nearby hospital to receive treatment. The severity of the motorcyclist’s injuries has not been disclosed. A tow truck was requested to remove the Jeep from the highway and the motorcycle had to be hauled from the scene, as well. Officers reported that the highway was blocked from both directions due to the accident.
