Los Angeles, CA (October 18, 2024) It was a Tuesday afternoon in October as vehicles headed through Los Angeles. At the intersection of 6th Street West and Columbia Way, three vehicles suddenly collided. It happened around 1:15 in the afternoon and left one person with critical injuries.
A California Highway Patrol motorcycle, a white Nissan Sentra, and a gray Jeep Cherokee all headed towards the intersection of 6th Street West and Columbia Way. For reasons that remain a mystery, the three vehicles collided at the intersection, blocking traffic and causing hazards and delays.
Authorities arrived at the scene to find the three vehicles with major damage. Litter and glass were flung in every direction, covering the intersection. Officers hurried to the vehicles to see if anyone needed medical attention. The officer who had been riding the motorcycle was found on the ground with critical injuries. Paramedics at the scene rushed them to a hospital in Antelope Valley where they remain in critical condition.

Officers took statements and gathered evidence at the scene before tow trucks removed the badly damaged vehicles from the intersection. Crews worked as quickly as they could to sweep the glass and debris from the roadway. Officers have stated that this investigation remains ongoing as they try to decipher what happened at this intersection. They are also determined to uncover who was responsible.
