HAWTHORNE, CA (May 2, 2023) A motorbike officer was admitted to the hospital today due to undisclosed injuries resulting from a traffic accident on the eastbound Century (105) Freeway in Hawthorne.
The collision took place just after 3 p.m. on the freeway close to Prairie Avenue.

The California Highway Patrol stated that three eastbound lanes were blocked while first responders attended to the injured officer and looked into the details of the crash, which seemed to involve a bus.
KTLA5 reported that the officer is a member of the Airport Police and was conscious and responsive before being transported to a medical facility. Attempts to reach Airport Police officials for a statement were unsuccessful at the time.
