A 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were riding on the 600 block of Railroad Avenue as a speeding car came up behind them. At approximately 7:30 p.m., the vehicle slammed into the back of the two scooters. Witnesses told police officers that the impact was so severe that the teenager was thrown up onto the hood of the car, before he slammed against the windshield. He then crashed into the ground in a forceful heap, hitting his head in the process. The man was knocked from the scooter and watched with shock as the driver of the vehicle sped away.

First responders arrived at the scene and found the teenager on the ground, obviously suffering from critical injuries.
