1 Injured, 1 Arrested In Woodland Hills Hit-And-Run Collision

Woodland Hills, CA (November 23, 2023) One person was injured on Wednesday, November 22nd, and another arrested for felony hit-and-run in Woodland Hills, authorities said. It happened shortly after 6:00 p.m. at Topanga Canyon and Victory Boulevard.

It started when a vehicle struck and injured a pedestrian and then fled the scene, leading police officers on a high-speed chase through the streets of Woodland Hills. Less than a half mile from where the suspect fled, they crashed into two other vehicles at Owensmouth Avenue and Victory Boulevard.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and rushed the pedestrian who was hit to a local hospital for treatment to injuries they sustained in the collision. A 50-year-old man was driving one of the vehicles that was struck; authorities said he was conscious and breathing following the collision. Paramedics assessed him for injuries and treated him at the scene. He was not transported to a hospital and only sustained minor injuries in the collision.

The driver of the vehicle that fled the scene was arrested for felony hit-and-run and could face other charges, as well, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Officers had to redirect traffic away from the scene which was in a busy retail shopping area. Officers reported that at least 3 cars showed significant damage in the intersection following the crash Woodland Hills. The intersection was littered with debris, which crews had to clean.
