Alameda, CA (September 6, 2024) Two pedestrians were struck and injured in a crazy collision in Alameda on Thursday morning, September 5th, 2024. The pedestrians were struck by a vehicle before it slammed into Gong Cha Bubble Tea on Park Street. It all happened right before 10:00 a.m.
It was minutes before 10:00 a.m. on a sunny Thursday morning in Alameda as two pedestrians walked along the cross walk on Park Street as they crossed. A black sedan was driving down Santa Clara Avenue and turned north onto Park Street. As it turned, it struck the two pedestrians, officers reported. The driver then seemed to lose control of the vehicle and went onto the sidewalk before crashing into the front window of the shop at 1501 Park Street.
Emergency personnel made their way to the scene and found the two pedestrians with injuries. Paramedics transported them to a local hospital to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, officers reported. They driver of the vehicle did not sustain injuries in the collision, but the vehicle was partially inside the store. A tow truck was called to remove the vehicle from the store window after officers finished their investigation. They are working to determine what exactly happened to cause this chaotic collision in Alameda.
