2 Pedestrians Struck & Killed In El Centro

Erasto Dominguez-Castro struck and killed in Palm Springs

El Centro, CA (October 19, 2023) Two pedestrians were struck and killed by a female driver in El Centro on Friday, October 13th, according to the El Centro Police Department. Their logs state that the accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on the corner of State Street and Fourth Street.

Officers said they first received a call about an unconscious pedestrian at the scene. The driver called 911 and reported hitting a person while driving a gray Toyota Corolla. Officers arrived at the scene to find not one, but two pedestrians on the ground. One of the victims was still breathing when emergency personnel arrived.

American Medical Response paramedics were called to the scene to treat the injured men. Police later reported that multiple people were actually injured at the scene. An air ambulance was called to transport the injured to an out-of-county hospital for treatment.

A 64-year-old man and a 69-year-old man were both killed in this collision.

Officers seized the 2018 Toyota Corolla as evidence and had to contact a tow truck to remove it from the scene. The vehicle sustained major damage to the rear, the windshield and to its front. in the accident. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers who are still investigating this collision.
