2 Police Officers Struck & Injured By A Vehicle In Fullerton

Two-vehicle crash occurs during police pursuit in North Hollywood, leaving two injured.

Fullterton, CA (November 21, 2023) 2 police officers sustained serious injuries on Tuesday morning when they were struck by a vehicle on the Orange (57) Freeway in Fullerton. The Lost Angeles Police Department said the collision occurred right at 2:00 a.m.

The two police officers were part of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Newton Division that was pursuing a suspect in downtown Los Angeles in Fullerton, just before midnight. The pursuit dragged on through the area until the driver of the vehicle tossed a weapon out the car window as she drove down the Freeway. The two officers got out of their patrol car in an attempt to find the weapon the suspect had thrown from their window. As they searched the area, a woman driving an Infiniti hit the back of their police car. The force caused the police car to move, hitting the officers, according to authorities.

Officers issued a SigAlert for the northbound 57 Freeway and Yorba Linda Boulevard so they could conduct an investigation. The police cruiser had to be removed from the scene and officers searched for any evidence available to help them figure out why the vehicle crashed into the police cruiser.
