HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (August 22, 2022) – A man was hit by a car and killed in Huntington Beach, and an investigation was underway, police said today.
The 42-year-old pedestrian was injured about 10:30 p.m. Sunday on Beach Boulevard, south of Ellis Avenue, and he died at a hospital, the Huntington Beach Police Department reported. His name was withheld, pending notification of his relatives.
According to police, the man was outside a crosswalk when he was struck by a 2008 Toyota Camry that was northbound on Beach Boulevard.
“The driver of the Camry, a 42-year-old female from Hemet, remained at the scene and fully cooperated with officers,” police said in a statement.
“Impairment did not appear to be a factor with the driver.”
The investigation was continuing. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call police at 714-536-5670.
