Los Angeles, CA (October 23, 2024) A shocking accident occurred in the Westlake area of Los Angeles on Tuesday evening, October 22nd, 2024. Five pedestrians were struck and injured by a hit-and-run vehicle on West Eighth Street, not far from MacArthur Park. The victims were a family of five, according to reports. Two adults and three teenagers were injured, one critically.
It was right around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening as a family of five decided to go for a walk. As they headed along the 2300 block of West Eight Street in the Westlake neighborhood, a vehicle approached. Due to circumstances that remain unknown, the vehicle hit all five pedestrians. The family of five were knocked to the ground like dominoes and landed not only injured, but also shocked. The driver then sped away, leaving all five pedestrians on the side of the road.

Firefighters with the Los Angeles Fire Department were the first to arrive at the scene and found the family of five on the ground, all injured. Four had sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, while one was found in critical condition, officers reported. Paramedics arrived and transported all five victims to a local hospital to receive treatment.
Officers are working to determined to figure out what type of vehicle struck this family of five in Westlake. They are working to not only find the car, but to also find the driver and bring him or her to justice for this hit-and-run accident. As of now, this case remains under investigation.
