55-Year-Old Man Struck, Killed In Las Vegas Hit-And-Run

Pedestrian struck and killed in Las Vegas hit-and-run.

Las Vegas, NV (October 14, 2024) A 55-year-old man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Las Vegas on Sunday morning, October 13th, 2024. It happened under the cover of darkness at approximately 4:41 a.m. near South Valley View and West Sahara, officers reported.

A 55-year-old man was walking through Las Vegas on Sunday morning and began crossing Sahara, heading north. The pedestrian was east of the intersection of Sahara and Valley View and reports indicated that he was not in a designated crosswalk. As he walked, a white 2021 Honda Accord sedan approached from the west. Reports indicated that the man stepped in front of the vehicle’s path. The front of the Honda struck the pedestrian’s left side, knocking him into traffic.

In a shocking turn of events, the Honda sped away from the scene, leaving the pedestrian alone in the roadway. Witnesses told police officers that the Honda headed east on Sahara, following the accident.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene and found the victim on the ground with fatal injuries. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and officials waited for a coroner. Detectives are working this case and are determined to find the vehicle responsible, as well as the driver.
