Santa Clara, CA (July 30, 2023) An 85-year-old man was walking through a Santa Clara crosswalk on Friday evening, when he was struck by a car. A witness called 911 around 8:48 p.m. to report the accident.

A Toyota pickup was heading west on Homestead Road when it struck the pedestrian. The driver, a 55-year-old Cupertino resident, stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Fire crews and police arrived at the scene and were ready to give the man medical attention, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
