Sherman Oaks, CA (December 13, 2023) A vehicle struck and killed 45-year-old Alex Tranchina on the transition road from the San Diego (405) Freeway to the Ventura (101) Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred just before 4:00 a.m.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene to find Tranchina lying on the ground. Paramedics rushed to give aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police officers following the fatal accident. Officers contacted the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner who later identified the victim as Alex Tranchina.
California Highway Patrol officers had to shut down the transition road so they could investigate the scene, CHP officer Michael Nasir said.
