Red Rock Canyon, NV (September 16, 2024) A 47-year-old female pedestrian was killed on Tuesday, September 10 near the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
The Nevada Highway Patrol reported that the devastating crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Route 159 near mile marker 9. The pedestrian, identified as Ann Kathleen Simmons, died at the scene after she was struck by a Toyota.
Apparently, Simmons has been walking south on the east shoulder of the road when she entered the travel lane in which the Toyota was driving.
The motorist remained at the scene and cooperated with officials.
