Woodland Hills, CA (November 29, 2023) Arturo Leon Dominguez, 49, was struck and killed by a vehicle on Monday, November 27th. The California Highway Patrol said the fatal accident occurred around 3:00 a.m. on the Ventura (101) Freeway in Woodland Hills.
Reports indicate that Dominguez was crossing the freeway on eastbound Ventura (101), just west of De Soto Avenue, when he was struck by a vehicle. Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian lying on the freeway. Paramedics rushed to give aid, but found Dominguez unresponsive. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol. Dominguez was later identified by the Los Angeles county Medical Examiner’s Office and his family was notified of his passing.

The driver of the vehicle, whose name has not been disclosed, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Officers had to close two of the eastbound lanes on the Ventura (101) Freeway and the Conga Avenue on-ramp for a period of time.
The tragic accident was under investigation as officers tried to determine exactly what happened and why Dominguez was hit by a vehicle while trying to cross the freeway in Woodland Hills.
