Child killed by vehicle in Lucerne Valley pedestrian accident

A child was fatally struck by a vehicle in a residential neighborhood of Lucerne Valley.

LUCERNE VALLEY, CA (NOVEMBER 12, 2023): A child was struck and killed by a vehicle in a fatal pedestrian accident in Lucerne Valley last week.

According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, the incident occurred on Friday, November 10th around 3:40 p.m. in a residential neighborhood near the 3200 Block of Furst Street, near Ox Bow Road. Emergency personnel responded to calls of a child struck by a vehicle. They arrived at the scene shortly after.

Upon arrival, paramedics discovered the child unresponsive in the roadway. They attempted life-resuscitating measures on the young victim, but unfortunately were unsuccessful. The child was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Identifying information including the child’s exact age and gender have not yet been released. It is unclear if the vehicle remained at the scene following impact. A description of the vehicle responsible was not reported by authorities.

The circumstances leading up to this collision remains unclear, including the location of the child when they were struck by the vehicle. San Bernardino County authorities were oversee an investigation into this tragic Lucerne Valley accident that resulted in the death of a child.
