Moreno Valley, CA (January 17, 2024) David Ristow, 64, was hit and killed while trying to cross the street in Moreno Valley. The accident occurred a few minutes after 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16th, on Perris Boulevard, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Ristow was walking in Moreno Valley when he decided to cross Perris Boulevard, not too far from Bay Avenue. Officers have reported that there was no designated crosswalk in the area. As he crossed the street, an Isuzu Trooper was driving south on Perris Boulevard. By the time he saw Ristow in the roadway, the driver didn’t have time to stop, according to Sgt. Marcos Acosta. Ristow was hit by the Isuzu Trooper and sustained life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Isuzu immediately stopped and waited for authorities to arrive. Unfortunately, Ristow succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. Officers questioned the driver of the Isuzu, but do not believe drugs or alcohol played a factor in this fatal accident.
