Parkway, CA (October 8, 2024) The community of Parkway was saddened as news of a pedestrian’s death spread through the town. Reports indicated that the accident occurred just after 7:00 p.m. on Franklin Boulevard, not far from Green Tree Drive. The elderly woman was struck by a vehicle and sadly, did not survive.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the woman was walking along the northbound side of Franklin Boulevard on Monday evening, October 7th, 2024. As she walked, a vehicle approached and, for unknown reasons, struck the pedestrian. The driver of the vehicle immediately stopped and waited for police officers to arrive at the scene.
Emergency personnel arrived and found the woman on the ground with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics quickly loaded the elderly woman into an ambulance and rushed her to a local hospital for emergency care. Unfortunately, her injuries were too severe and she succumbed to them. Officials pronounced her dead at the hospital.
The driver was not intoxicated at the time of the accident, according to officers. However, investigators continue to work this case in an effort to understand what exactly happened in Parkway on that October evening.
