A 1988 Chevrolet van, driven by a 56-year-old man, was heading east on Antelope Boulevard at about 35 miles per hour when he hit Morgan. He told officers that he saw Morgan walking across the street directly in front of him, but he didn’t have time to stop. Following an investigation, officers determined that the driver had not been under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of this fatal collision.

The investigation is ongoing as it appears Morgan could have been at fault for stepping onto the road in front of an oncoming vehicle. The driver of the van appeared to have a suspended license at the time of the accident.
