Hit-And-Run Driver Injured 2 While Fleeing Police In San Francisco

San Francisco, CA (May 8, 2024) A chaotic incident unfolded on Tuesday as police officers pursued a driver who hit not one, but two different people on two different streets. One of the victims was a 14-year-old girl and the other an Urban Alchemy worker. The two victims were both injured, but according to reports, neither sustained life-threatening injuries. The hit-and-run driver was later caught and arrested.

The craziness began just before 8:00 a.m. when the driver of a Mustang was reported doing donuts at the intersection of Market and Jones. While doing donuts, the driver hit an Urban Alchemy worker and then fled the scene. Officers attempted to pull over the Mustang, but the driver refused to stop. Instead, they were led on a high speed chase through the streets of San Francisco. Near the 2100 block of Powell Street, the Mustang struck a 14-year-old girl who was walking to Francis Middle School. After hitting the girl, the driver of the Mustang continued to flee, officers said.

Following this accident, officers reported that they decided to stop chasing the suspect due to safety reasons. Paramedics were called to the two separate scenes and both the Urban Alchemy worker and the 14-year-old girl were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers found the driver of the Mustang later that morning at the intersection of Green Street and Embarcadero Street. The Mustang had hit numerous parked cars as he fled, as well, according to officers. The driver was taken to the hospital due to injuries unrelated to the chase, officers said, and was later arrested.
