Victorville, CA (February 27, 2024) Interstate 15 in Victorville became a deadly highway on Thursday, February 22nd, when a pedestrian was suddenly killed. 49-year-old Iaan Michael Lee was struck and killed by a vehicle while walking on Interstate 15, officers said. The fatal collision occurred near the Roy Rogers Drive off ramp at 2:36 a.m.

Darkness covered the town of Victorville as Lee moved along Interstate 15 on foot. A gray Kia Stinger was heading down the interstate when the driver suddenly saw the pedestrian on the freeway. The driver had no time to react and ended up hitting Lee as he walked along the interstate. The force threw Lee several feet from the vehicle, where he landed on the ground. The driver of the Kia immediately stopped and called 911, officers reported.

The California Highway Patrol, along with paramedics, quickly arrived at the scene and found Lee lying on the freeway with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics rushed to give him life-saving measures, but sadly, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to officers.

Police officers continue to investigate that deadly collision to learn what exactly happened on that dark freeway in the middle of the night. The driver of the Kia was cooperative with officers during this investigation of the scene.
