Las Vegas, NV (April 21, 2024) A sad accident took place in downtown Las Vegas on Saturday night, leaving one person dead. It happened when a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle that quickly fled the scene, officers reported. The fatal accident took place just after 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Foremaster Lane.
The male pedestrian was crossing Main Street at the Foremaster Lane intersection in downtown Las Vegas on Saturday night. At approximately 8:09 p.m., a vehicle came through the intersection, hitting the pedestrian as they crossed. The pedestrian was thrown several feet and landed in the middle of the intersection following the collision. The driver of the vehicle did not stop, though. Instead, they hit the gas and continued driving until they were out of sight, leaving the pedestrian alone with life-threatening injuries.
The Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene with paramedics and found the man lying in the intersection. Paramedics rushed to the pedestrian’s side to give life-saving measures, but the man’s injuries were too severe. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene and authorities called the coroner.
Officers investigated the scene and gathered any evidence they could find in order to help find the driver responsible. They are determined to find the vehicle that struck the pedestrian and, in doing so, find the driver and bring him or her to justice.
