Long Beach, CA (June 14, 2023) A man operating a scooter was tragically killed when a car struck him in Long Beach. Today, the police are appealing to any potential witnesses to contact the authorities.

The incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday on Pacific Coast Highway near Junipero Avenue, as per the Long Beach Police Department. The identity of the deceased man, who passed away at the accident scene, has not been released yet.
Police reported that a 2018 Dodge Challenger, driven by a 21-year-old man from Long Beach, was heading east on PCH when it hit the man. The scooter rider was “crossing northbound in traffic lanes outside of a crosswalk” when the collision happened.
The driver of the car, whose identity remains undisclosed, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police officers who arrived. Police have stated that “speed, drugs, and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in this collision.”
