Santa Rosa, CA (September 13, 2023) A middle school student was injured on Tuesday after a vehicle struck her in a crosswalk. The Santa Rosa Police Department said it happened around 2:30 p.m. and the suspect fled the scene after hitting the girl.
The Hilliard Comstock Middle School student was a 13-year-old girl, according to law enforcement. She was legally crossing in a designated crosswalk on Guerneville Road when she was hit by a vehicle. The vehicle was making a right turn on a red light as the girl crossed.

The car, a 4-door sedan, stopped at the red light before making a right turn onto northbound Marlow Road. The driver wasn’t driving very fast when they hit the girl. The force still knocked her down and she sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.
The driver stopped the car, helped the girl up and walked her to the sidewalk. The then got back in his car and left the scene. A security video shows the suspect’s white sedan, as well as the man driving it. Authorities are looking for him.
