Pedestrian Fatally Struck By 2 Vehicles On I-35 In Dallas

Pedestrian struck and injured in hit-and-run in the Westlake area of Los Angeles.

Dallas, TX (November 7, 2023) A pedestrian was killed in the early morning hours on Monday, November 6th, after being hit by not one, but two vehicles on Interstate 35 in Dallas. Authorities said it happened around 2:00 a.m. near Market Center.

According to reports, the man was walking in the northbound lanes of Stemmons Freeway when he was struck by two different vehicles. Interstates have lights, but the lanes can still be dark at night, making pedestrians more difficult to see. Both drivers stopped and waited for police officers to arrive at the scene.

Liability In Dallas Pedestrian Accidents

Thousands of pedestrians are killed or seriously injured every year in pedestrian accidents. According to the Centers for Disease Control, “An estimated 137,000 pedestrians were treated in emergency departments for nonfatal crash-related injuries in 2017. Per trip, pedestrians are 1.5 times more likely than passenger vehicle occupants to be killed in a car crash.” There are a number of factors that could lead to a pedestrian collision including:

         -Speeding

         -Drunk driving

         -Driver distraction
