Modesto, CA (November 20, 2023) A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car on Saturday night, November 18th, according to the Modesto Police Department. The accident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of McHenry Avenue.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene on McHenry Avenue and found a pedestrian lying in the roadway with serious injuries. Paramedics arrived and quickly, but carefully, loaded the pedestrian into an ambulance and rushed him to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Sadly, the pedestrian died at the hospital from injuries sustained in the collision.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the pedestrian remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Officers reported that the driver showed no signs of drug or alcohol impairment following the collision.
The collision is still under investigation as officers try to determine what caused this fatal accident on McHenry Avenue in Modesto on Sunday night.
