Stockton, CA (May 31, 2024) A devastating accident occurred at a Stockton intersection on Wednesday, May 29th. A 73-year-old man was walking when he was struck and killed by a vehicle at the intersection of F Street and Fremont Street. It happened under the cover of darkness at approximately 9:20 p.m., according to reports.
The sun had set over an hour ago as a 73-year-old man walked through the streets of Stockton. As he approached the intersection of F Street and Fremont Street, a vehicle was also approaching the intersection. Officers reported that the circumstances surrounding the accident remain unclear, but for some reason, the pedestrian was struck by the vehicle. The impact tossed the man several feet before he landed on the ground in the middle of the roadway. The 60-year-old driver of the vehicle immediately stopped and stayed with the victim as they both waited for authorities to arrive.

The Stockton Police Department arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian on the ground, motionless. Paramedics began performing life-saving measures on the victim, but his injuries were too severe. He died in the middle of the roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities. Officers gently placed a tarp over him and called for a coroner to come to the scene.
