Toluca Lake, CA (November 24, 2023) A pedestrian lost their life on Thanksgiving morning when they were fatally struck by a vehicle on the Ventura 101 Freeway near Toluca Lake. The California Highway Patrol said the accident happened at the Vineland Avenue on-ramp just before 4:00 a.m.

California Highway Patrol Officer, Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service that the pedestrian had been killed in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene. A medical examiner was called to the scene and the identity of the pedestrian is being withheld until their next of kin have been notified.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Officers are investigating this fatal collision on the Ventura 101 Freeway to try and determine exactly what happened. They hope to figure out if the pedestrian was crossing the freeway or walking down the freeway and what actually led to them being hit by a vehicle on Thanksgiving morning.
