Reno, NV (August 10, 2024) A pedestrian was stuck and killed on Red Rock Road in Reno, on Friday morning, August 9th, 2024. The Reno Police Department reported that they responded to the accident just after 5:00 a.m., just north of Moya Boulevard.
It was early on Friday morning. The sun had yet to rise and as a few vehicles traveled through the streets of Reno. A pedestrian was walking along Red Rock Road as a vehicle approached, heading south. Reports suggested that the pedestrian attempted to cross the dark road without using a crosswalk. The vehicle struck the pedestrian, knocking them to the ground. The driver stopped and waited for authorities to arrive at the scene.

They found the pedestrian lying on the ground and began performing life-saving treatment on the victim. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to their injuries and, with heavy hearts, authorities pronounced them dead at the scene. They placed a tarp over the victim’s body and waited for the coroner to arrive at the scene.
Investigators questioned the driver of the vehicle and are working to determine what exactly happened on that dark, summer morning to cause this fatal pedestrian accident. Officers said it doesn’t appear that drugs or alcohol played a role in this deadly accident.
