Rohnert Park, CA (January 16, 2024) 61-year-old Andrew Kenneth Lujan was walking his dog in Rohnert Park when they were both struck and killed by a vehicle, authorities said. The fatal accident occurred around 7:00 a.m. on Rohnert Park Expressway, not far from the railroad crossing.
It all happened on Sunday, January 14th. The Rohnert Park resident and his dog were headed north as they crossed Rohnert Park Expressway. Authorities have reported that at the time of the accident, the fog was thick and heavy and the streets were dimly lit, making it difficult for vehicles to see them. As they crossed, they were both hit by a vehicle in the intersection.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found Lujan lying in lane No. 1 in cardiac arrest. Paramedics tried to save the man’s life, but with heavy hearts, they had to pronounce Andew Kenneth Lujan dead at the scene. The man’s dog, killed on impact, laid in the road not far from his owner.
The driver of the vehicle that was involved pulled over and waited for police officers. Officers said the driver was cooperative and they do not believe drugs and/or alcohol were factors in this fatal collision.
